About TAC Enviro

TAC Enviro builds aluminium covers for storage tanks. Geodesic domes, floating roofs, pontoons and sealing systems that cap a tank, stop what is inside from evaporating and stop what comes off it from reaching the air around the plant.

The company has spent years supplying the petrochemical world, with projects for operators like Repsol, Cepsa, Eni and Aramco behind them. The same engineering solves a completely different problem in water treatment, where open tanks and basins release odour into the neighbourhoods around them, and that is the market they wanted to open up.

The challenge

TAC Enviro had the product, the manufacturing and the references. What they did not have was a reliable way into a sector where nobody knew them yet.

  • The track record was in the wrong industry. Every logo on the wall was oil and gas. A water utility director does not care that Aramco buys your domes. They care whether another plant like theirs has one, and there was no water reference to point at when the campaign started.
  • Nobody is shopping for a tank cover. This is a considered capital purchase with a long approval path through technical, environmental and procurement layers. There is no moment where a plant manager sits down and searches for a supplier. Someone has to raise it first, and raise it in a way that survives being forwarded internally.
  • Europe is not one water market. Every country runs its plants differently, in a different language, under a different regulator, with different job titles on the people who actually decide. A list of treatment plants is easy to get. A list of the right plants, with the right person and a real reason to be contacted, is not.

What we did

  1. Targeted the people who actually buy machinery.

Procurement managers, purchasing heads, senior and lead engineers, technical and maintenance directors inside the plants. These are the people who specify and sign off capital equipment, and they sit one level away from the titles most outbound campaigns chase. Far less targeted, far more likely to read a relevant email and far more likely to be the person who can start the internal process.

  2. Cleaned the list down to real plants.

We worked through a raw dataset of nearly 9,000 European records and built multilingual classification and address cleaning to separate actual operating treatment plants from engineering consultancies, equipment resellers and duplicate entries. What went into the campaign was the operating plants only.

  3. Qualified before booking.

With deal sizes this large, a full calendar is worthless if the meetings are wrong. Every booking had to be a genuine operator, with genuine tanks, and a genuine reason to be looking at covering them.

9 to 12

qualified meetings a month, three months running

The results

9 to 12 qualified meetings a month, every month, for three months running.

Around 30 conversations with water and wastewater plants across Europe in the first quarter of working together.

For a business selling high value capital equipment, that volume is not a top of funnel number. It is a pipeline. One sale can pay for over a year of marketing expense, and the campaign continues.
